Taking my blog in a different direction…

Hey! Long time no see.

As you guys probably noticed, I don’t upload anything anymore. And to be honest, there’s no other reason for it than just the fact that I didn’t know what to upload. I browsed the web for ideas but could find none that suited me. So I came up with something myself.

Not too long ago I found out about an app called ‘Aliexpress’. And holy hell, how did I never know about it?! It’s a damn gem, everything you want you can order, and cheap if you like.

So what I’m gonna do is review items I got from there starting…well when my last order comes in. I’ll take pictures, style the items, review  the quality etc.

So that’s all, hopefully my order comes quick so I can begin the reviewing!

My thoughts on work and money

Hey!

I’ve been away for a pretty long time (I’m sick as always)  so I thought I’d discuss a little thing I’ve been thinking about lately; work and money.

See, these are things I tend to avoid cause personally I don’t think I’ve ever worked hard enough, and when I worked I worked as a volunteer which means I didn’t get paid. Also, I don’t have an interest in buying from any brands that are really expensive. Brands are just brands, it’s quality that matters to me.

So sometimes I get annoyed when well known and the more subscribed  youtubers show off products they have bought, usually they call their videos ‘hauls’ and basically it’s like 10 mins of them trying on or showing clothes, perfumes, shoes etc that they recently bought somewhere. Most of the time I really like those videos cause I like to see what kind of clothes and stuff is out there for me to take a look at, but then I browse the websites they got the products from and…

Let’s just say these items that they have are litterally for people that make a looooot of money. Now, I am a person who would be willing to work (just for a part time job until next summer) at least 4 days a week 8 hours a day. Even if I did that, I still wouldn’t go out and buy a $950 designer bag ‘just to treat myself’. Always concider how other people feel about this. Some people are handicapped and can’t work, what if they see your videos and get sad because they know they’ll never be able to compete?

I don’t want to say ‘shame on you for buying expensive things’ to these youtubers, but seriously why not do an affordable haul? If you have the money to treat yourself on 3 products that already cost $2000 then obviously you could buy some affordable things to show in a haul, so people can actually enjoy buying the same products they have bought.

That’s all I have to say about that. Hereby I would also like to announce that on the last day of each month I will be doing a ‘Monthly Favorites’. Just to show you guys how affordable things are and still are of good quality and they’re just fun to have and use.

Look out for one more post tonight 😉

Weekly Workout Routine

Hey!

I’ve been more sick than I thought I was and I was planning to upload this post Friday night, but obviously that didn’t work out so I’m doing it now. I did have a nice weekend, however. I went to the cinema with my boyfriend and we watched The Bye Bye Man. Really creepy, yet a typical horror movie. It was nice but I don’t think it was worth spending money on. I’m waiting for the movie ‘Split’ to come out now 🙂 .

As you all know, I want to lose 20 kg this year. My mom wants to lose 10 kg.

I work out at the gym at least once a week and we stay for about an hour. I took some pictures and I thought it’s be nice to share my routine. Let’s begin!

20170113_201013
I start of by cycling every time. I do this for 20 minutes and I like to do 10 minutes of ‘alpine pass’ and 10 minutes of ‘random hill’ both at level 6

20170113_203853
After that I walk stairs and every week I choose a different building. Today I climbed the Taj Mahal (about 350 steps) at level 6.
20170113_205055
Then I move on to muscle training and start off with lifting these weight (2 kg and 25 lifts per arm).
20170113_205311
Then I do 10 benchpresses lifting 10 kg of weights (I know it says 2 kg on the weight but I took a pic before changing it to 5)

20170113_210114
This thing was new to me. Basically you pull the ropes down with your hands and it trains your arms and back. I pulled down 32 kg 50 times, and yes, I felt the BURN.

20170113_210600
I don’t know what this device is called but it works out your thighs. As all people who are a bit overweight know, fat on your thighs can lead to sores when they’re wet or moist and it’s the worst feeling ever. I never skip this one and I do 18 kg 50 times.

And that’s it, an hour of working out a week really does make a change. It keeps me fit and my endurence level gets better and better.

I’ve been sick…

Hey!

If you were wondering why I haven’t been active lately, I’ve been sick, again. I get sick very often, cause I have a very poor resistance when it comes to bacteria and stuff. It sucks. My goal is to lose 20 kg and I don’t want all this sickness to stand in the way of my goal. And I won’t let it get the best of me, because I know I’m stronger than that 🙂 .

In the meantime I haven’t been doing anything really, exept for writing some job applications. I’ve sent applications to three hotels in the area, I would love working in a hotel!

So, no posts other than this one today 😦 . But to make up for the lack of posts I will try and post 2 things tomorrow (to give you a hint; it has to do with my room and the other with beauty).

Hope you are all doing well! What was the last time you were sick and what was it?

In The Night, In The Dark

Hey!

Every night around 11 pm, I take a 25 min walk with my mom and my dog. At night everything seems a little bit prettier, and creepier which I love. I decided to snap some pictures of the nighttime in Zwartewaal.

20170108_224255

So this picture right here might seem a bit familiar if you’ve read my post ‘Bowling’. This is the street I live in, I’ve lived here for 10 years now. Even now I still feel like this view will never get old, I really love the place I live in, even though there’s not much to do. Our city doesn’t have a mall, nor any other kinds of centers where I like to hang out or whatever. We’ve got one café, one grocery store, one garage, one snack bar, a tennis court and a soccer field. And that’s just about it 🙂 . But I don’t mind, because look at this place!

20170108_224547

It was a foggy night last night, so excuse my phone’s flashlight for reflecting the fog and making my pictures look so bad, oops. I’m planning on buying a REAL camera when it’s my birthday the 15th of March. Then again, I might only do this if it’s worth it, meaning if you guys are even interested in my blog haha. I like this alley, because of the lenght of the apartments on each side of the road. Does it creep you out? Good, because that’s exactly what it was meant to do 😉 .

20170108_224933

The fact that people still have their Christmas decorations up makes my mom and I feel like we’re not those weirdos of the village that can’t let go of the Christmas spirit yet, so that’s nice. There’s parking lot at those street lights, which looks golden cause of all the yellow light, how fancy.

The reflection of the lights on the street tiles was a nice thing to capture on photo, I think

20170108_225132

This is a cute little park located behind the parking lot you saw in the previous picture. Not so cute at night, is it? Big trees always catch my attention, especially at night. Reminds me a bit of the Slenderman game, although there wasn’t a creepy note on this tree unforunately 🙂 .

After snapping these 4 pictures, I got lost in a conversation with my mom (happens all the time), and forgot about taking more pictures, SORRY. We’ll save it for another post 🙂 .

Do you like creepy things? Do you like the nighttime or daytime better?

Tonight’s salad and my apple crumble recipe

Hey! Some days I feel like cooking or baking something, and today was one of those days. I decided to help my mom with tonight’s dinner. I made the salad.

So here’s how I make a salad. Sadly I forgot to take pictures of it so I’ll explain it in steps.

  1. Chop up 2 crops of iceberg lettuce, and wash them with water.
  2. Get two salad bowls and put some vinegar, pepper, salt and some oil of your own choice (I used basilicum oil) on the bottom.
  3. Put the lettuce in the bowls and mix it with the other ingredients.
  4. Peel a cucumber and grate it (half goes in one bowl, the other half in the other bowl).
  5. Cut some small mozzarella balls in half and devide them over the two bowls.
  6. Put some salad dressing on it (I used honey mustard dressing), mix it again, and your salad is done! ENJOY

So for the desert I made something that I read about in a cooking book. The recipe I’m going to give you will feed 6 people.

20170108_190707
1: Add a 150 grams of flour to a bowl or pan

20170108_190917
2: Add a 120 grams of dairy butter

20170108_191100
3: Add a 150 grams of Sugar

20170108_192007
4: Mix the ingredients with your hands until it looks like this

20170108_192910
5: Put the apples on the bottom of a oven dish, and the crumbles on top of them (I know, I forgot to mention that I cut 6 apples into small pieces, that’s actually step 1 🙂 )

Put this oven dish in a pre-heated oven for 20 minutes, and then it should be done!

20170108_201819
This is what mine looked like, I also added some vanilla ice cream and some whipped cream, which was already melting when I took this picture haha

So there you have it! I hope this is useful to you and I hope you’ll enjoy it if you try this out! Let me know in the comments if you did.

Bowling

Hey! This weekend I wanted to surprise my boyfriend so my mom and I decided the three of us should go bowling. And it was a lot of fun! Let’s talk about the day.

So right now it’s so cold where I live, 2 degrees celcius :O I personally hate cold weather, so you’ll barely see me outside on these sort of days haha.

20170107_150033
My garden with our real life Christmas tree!

20170107_150100

And there was actually some snow in the streets! That’s the one of the things I do like about winter time. It was like a slippery mix of snow and ice though, so not the real deal. Also, it rained and it was ice cold rain, yuck. Welcome to the winter in Holland everybody 🙂

When we got there, the lights were still on to my disappointment. But when we started at 4 pm the lights went off, and the neon lights came on 😀 We had something to drink, and talked about lots of things throughout the 3 games we played. Here are the results:

20170107_163821
My nickname is Pie, Monica is my mom and Raymond is my boyfriend.

So overall I think I did pretty well, we are very competitive people so we couldn’t stand all the gutter balls we had 😡

We ended the games at 5 pm, and we ate some food there too. Then we headed home. Such a fun day! I love spending time with the people I love, some people find this cheesy, but it makes me happy.
